Jasper Jauch wins TrailTrophy at Kronplatz

Jana Goetze was the third fastest woman, winning the women’s Rider Class. Urs Stadelmann (SUI/Velothek Kalag feelfederweg.ch) took first in the men’s Masters Class, while Matthias Sutter (GER/Santa Claus Syndicate Yeti Ullmann and Friends) took the men’s Rider Class title.

Around 140 riders, both male and female rode in the TrailTrophy Premiere at Kronplatz. With a total of eleven incredibly varied stages to conquer, including flowy trails through the forest undergrowth and rocky, rooty passages with opposing climbs, not to mention metre high obstacles and the odd high speed stretch thrown in for good measure. For many participants it was their first experience of the Kronplatz region’s incredible trails and it couldn’t have been much better! The festival of berms and turns that is the Herrnsteig really made an impression on the riders, as did the region’s fantastic natural trails with their surprise hairpins and varied surfaces. “Kronplatz has an amazing mixture of trails that really challenge riders with their insane variety” said TrailTrophy Organiser Thomas Schlecking.

Jasper Jauch, the overall winner of TrailTrophy also had a good time: “Even though I was already battling with pedal sections on the first day’s stages, I still managed to gain an advantage on the faster stages on Saturday and Sunday to cement the win” he said at the prize giving.

Once again, the rider’s really did themselves justice with their amazing camaraderie and friendship: How many competitions see the top-ten riders racing together on certain stretches, battling on the trails and riding together from time trial to time trial?
The podiums were truly international: Behind the winner of the men’s Rider Class, Matthias Sutter (GER), came Nicolas Siedl (AUT/Elite der Menschheit) and Oliver Windler (SUI/Santa Claus Syndicate Yeti Ullmann and friends) in second and third.
Jana Goetze (GER/Santa Chicks Syndicate) took first in the women’s Rider Class, with Kathrin Rahring (GER/HAIBIKE Enduro Crew) and Alena Groth (GER/Santa Chicks Syndicate) hot on her trail.

Urs Stadelmann was untouchable in the Men’s Masters Class, winning with an advantage of more than one minute and defeating (Manfred Morokutti (AUT/Elite der Menschheit) and Daniel Vögel (SUI/Velothek-Kalag-feelfederweg.ch 1).

The men’s Rider Class team competition was won by the Swiss in the form of Urs Stadelmann, Daniel Vögle and André Huser’s team “Velothek-Kalag-feelfederweg.ch 1”. They were followed by team “Santa Claus Syndicate Yeti Ullmann and Friends”, made up of Matthias Sutter, Oliver Windler and Matthias Menzl. Third place went to the “Elite der Menschheit” – Nicolas Siedl, Manfred Morokutti and Gregor Pribernig.

The Pro Class was a serious victory for team “the hive/e*thirteen”, made up of Jasper Jauch, Nathaniel Goiny and Jakob Breitwieser. They won with about a ten minute advantage over the “Locals” from team “Vitamin F”, featuring Philip Tinkhauser, Arno Feichter and Lukas Schmidt. Third place went to “the trailtech trailbusters” – Cornelius Hoberg, Johannes Schilder and Fabian Hartmann.

Much praise was also directed towards the organisation co-operative of Vitamin F Bike Club and Bike Projects for their incredible display of Kronplatz Gastronomy, providing perfect meals throughout. “we’ve been making a lot of jokes about the ‘gourmet trophy’” said Michael Zingerle from host organisation, team Vitamin F. “We can’t wait for next year’s trophy!”
